Frequently Asked Questions

[Q] Is it possible to install V-Ray as a floating license?

[A] This version of V-Ray for SketchUp allows to install the license as a floating license if you wish. This allows all computers on a network access to the license(s) on the nominated license server computer. Only the number of licenses purchased can be run on the network at the same time. If you require more workstations to have access to V-Ray concurrently, additional licenses can be purchased and added to the license server computer. Alternatively, once license can be installed per computer if you feel there is no benefit to floating the license.

• Pentium, Celeron, or higher processor. Mac version is Intel only
• 200 MB disk space
• 512 MB RAM minimum. 2-3 GB or more recommended

V-Ray for SketchUp runs only on:

• Windows 2000 including server
• Windows XP Pro
• Windows XP Home
• Windows Vista*
• Windows 7*
• OS 10.4.11 or higher*

V-Ray for SketchUp will NOT run on:

• SketchUp 5 or lower*
• Windows NT
• Windows 95
• Windows 98
• Windows ME
• OS 9 or lower

V-Ray for SketchUp does run as a 32-bit application on 64bit machines and OS's.

Virtualization systems such as VMWare and Parallels are not recommended.

The use of imaged machines is not recommended due to the fact that the licensing is hardware dependent.

SketchUp 6 on OS X is not supported.
