G L D'Darcy Pty Ltd, creators of Smart Architect, LiSP enablers for AutoCAD LT and other CAD utility software has ceased trading and on 14th December 2009 went into liquidation.

A variety of unfortunate events over the past several years including the untimely death of its founder Gary D'Arcy, the subsequent ill health of his widow and the loss of key staff, provided the director/s of the company little option but to take this course of action.

Our heart and best wishes go out to the late Gary D'Arcy's family who have suffered a great deal of emotional trauma in recent times.

There are thousands of users all over the world who have invested in products such as SmartArchitect, SlingShotMAX, SlingShot3D, LTTKMax, SuperTools, ToolKit, StrucPLUS, ArchiOfficeLT, BestCAD, Land4, MechQ, NitroCAD, QuickBar and SurvaCAD who will be affected by this event and whom we expect will have a prayer of hope and support.

Unlicense your RealCAD based software BEFORE disposing of your machine, reformatting your hard drive or upgrading your operating system !!!

Replacement license keys are no longer issued without the unlicense procedure.

Here's what to do...
1. Install the latest cad.exe file
2. Run the software and select Help>About from the menu
3. Select the Unlicense button and follow the instructions - saving the licenseinfo.dat file that it creates to your desktop.
4. Email the licenseinfo.dat file as an attachment to support@cad.com.au with your request for a new license Key (Even if the software reports it has sent this email automatically send it manually anyway)

Your request will be processed and you will receive an email with further instructions on re-licensing your 'new machine'.

Note there is a fee for reissuing keys to non-subscribers.

I has been said that 'you can't teach an old dog new tricks', but we beg to differ. If you have a big enough reason to change bad habits into good ones, you will, and the current pricing makes it a 'no brainer' - from $99.

Download and Save this Profilem.plan file to your .../My Documents/Home Designer Pro x.0 Data/Templates/ folder of your PC.

Overwrite the file of the same name that's already in the folder. Next time you start a new metric drawing the software will use this new file as the template.

Expand your 3D modelling by leveraging from thousands of 3D models available in the Google 3D Warehouse. Install RealCAD's new SketchUp file importer and convert any SketchUp model into a RealCAD one complete with texture mapping...

Then you can work on the model directly inside RealCAD or LANDWorksCAD to produce composed drawings, elevations, sections and 3D views just as if you had modelled it directly in CAD. (You will of course need the 3D version of the CAD software to make use of this new tool).

With the advent of Windows 7, AutoCAD 2010, 64 bit Operating Systems and Bricscad v10, we have developed a new installer and updates for the StrucPLUS software range.

Be sure you have the correct StrucPLUS version to suit your CAD system and your operating system and version.

New updates are also available for StrucPLUS plug-ins such as Pre-Cast Panel Detailer.

Warning! StrucPLUS is NOT compatible with AutoCAD LT running on Windows 7 (This is due to the LiSP enabler we purchase from DRCAuto not being compatible with Windows 7)

StrucPLUS is NOT compatible with AutoCAD LT 2010 latest update discs (This is due to the LiSP enabler again not being compatible with something in the latest discs from Autodesk)

You can apparently only tell which version of AutoCAD LT 2010 you have by looking at how many DVD's were supplied to you. If you have AutoCAD LT 2010 on ONE DVD then StrucPLUS will work. If you have AutoCAD LT 2010 supplied on TWO DVD's then StrucPLUS will not work!

One of the little known tools in RealCAD is the ability to select Text and Explode it into an outline of the original text.

The outline is made of simple lines, arcs and curves and can be edited easily and filled in with Surface Planes. It can then also be cut out of any material using RealCAD/ CAM module.

Try it. Select the desired text, then select the Explode Command.

We have been struggling with Windows Vista for a very long time. It has cost thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours trying to sort out issues that surfaced only when users installed Vista on their machines.

At first glance it would appear Windows 7 works - Yipee! It looks and feels much the same as Vista but seems to perform faster and with less down-time from system crashes. Windows 7 hasn't been out long enough for us to say that it's fantastic but so far so good.

A word of warning - if you are upgrading your machine from Vista or XP to Windows 7 you MUST UNLICENSE your CAD software before installing the new operating system.

Also, you will be required to place your working files into a different folder than before and your program files in a different folder again.
